During the Spring Semester 2022, I took on a leadership role in the Lindner College of Business (LCB) and worked as a PACE Leader. PACE Leaders are LCB students who lead, mentor, and help to develop first-year students in LCB and students who are exploring a major in business. PACE Leaders work with students in the Essentials of Business, Business Pathways, and Business Foundations courses as they navigate the PACE Program, the Lindner College of Business, and the University. As I reflect back on this unique opportunity, I realize that I learned as much from the first-year students as they did from me. This experience allowed me to inspire 15 young college students by sharing what I have learned throughout the 3 years I have spent in the College of Business. However, the beginning was a challenging because I was leading a group of students that started in the fall 2021 with a different PACE leader. Even though I knew that it was going to be hard for the students to get used to me as their new PACE leader, I decided to keep an open mind, get to know each of them, and simply be a resource. Throughout the semester, I was able to provide them many helpful resources and advice that allowed them to finish the school year with good grades on their projects. It was extremely rewarding to me to see that I led a group of smart students and contributed to their successes. It inspired me to continue to help my peers and make an impact in the UC community. I look forward to accomplishing even more in the next few years and sharing what I have learned.
